1 day and counting...
... until I head to Vietnam. I'll be there for 10 days so there will be some blog silence unless I find an internet cafe or something. There are 26 of us going - my parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, just a gang load of people, which should be a blast. Its a 20 hour flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong, then another couple hours to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon to some of us). I have 5 knitting projects packed for the flight - Wyvern socks, Silk Corset top, Bea Ellis Traditional Hat, Madli's Shawl, and two extra pairs of undecided socks. So even the short attention span that I have will be appeased. Note the conspicuous absense of my Clapotis? I didnt want to lug a lapful of wool to Vietnam with me. And what is the weather like you might ask? 87 degrees with 100% humidity :) Armpit stains here I come!
I had to babysit my mom's Maltese - Benny (Short for Benito.. Benito Mussolini) over night because he's going to be borded with my Boxer Lila. He is a weird little dog. Runs off when you come close but follows you around when you walk away. But if you get a hold of him he'll nestle into your lap and be quiet. Anti-social little bugger. I dropped them off at the Animal Keeper in Oceanside aka Ritz for the Furry. They get day camp to play with other dogs every day as well. Considering what we are paying for it, its nearly as much as our hotel in Vietnam is.
I also got my hair cut, sorely needed, at Adora Salon in Oceanside, and am quite pleased with the result. Still quite long but less limp, not quite so thin and flat looking. The hairstylist even convinced me to come back for highlights later this month.
